Brushed Polyester Bedding Fabric

Brushed plain-weave polyester for hotel sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases — customised to your GSM, width and finish.

This is the base cloth behind most white hotel bedding programmes. A tight plain weave is brushed after dyeing to raise a short, even pile: the surface softens without losing the flat, matte hand that takes printing, embroidery and repeated commercial laundering. GSM, width and brushing depth are all set per order, so the same construction can be supplied light for economical sheet programmes or heavier for premium rooms.

  • GSM 35–100
  • Width 150–280cm

How to read this table. Owner-confirmed values are what we hold ourselves to. Industry-reference values describe what the market commonly supplies for this construction and mark the range we can customise within — they are not a fixed measured figure for a single SKU. Order-specific values are set per order, per process and against the approval sample. Final specification is confirmed per order.

Custom manufacturing for OEM/ODM buyers

This page describes a construction, not a single catalogue item. GSM, width, weave, surface finish, density and print are all set per order within the ranges above, against a specification you approve. That is the practical difference between buying a stocked SKU and buying a construction: if your programme needs 240 cm instead of 150 cm, a firmer brush, or a 190T structure rebuilt to your own warp and weft count, the conversation is about what the loom can hold rather than about which item number to pick.

Technical questions buyers ask

What is brushed polyester bedding fabric?

Brushed polyester bedding fabric is a plain-weave polyester cloth whose surface has been mechanically raised after dyeing, creating a short dense pile. The weave stays flat and tight — one warp yarn alternately over and under one weft — so the fabric keeps its dimensional stability while the brushed face gives it a softer, warmer hand than unbrushed polyester. In hotel use it sits between crisp percale and heavier twill: soft enough for guest comfort, structured enough to hold a fold and survive industrial washing cycles.

What GSM should I specify for hotel bedding?

For plain-weave brushed polyester the market commonly supplies roughly 35–100 GSM, and the choice follows the end use rather than preference. Around 35–55 GSM suits economical sheet programmes, linings and markets where price per metre dominates; 65–85 GSM is the usual band for hotel sheets and duvet covers where the fabric must stay opaque after washing. Final GSM is confirmed per order against the finish, the target hand-feel and the laundry conditions of the property.

How is the brushing applied, and does it wash out?

Brushing is done after dyeing, not before — raising pile on undyed greige then dyeing would leave the tips uneven in colour. The cloth passes through rotating wire-covered rollers that lift fibres from the surface; the depth of brushing controls how soft the hand feels and how much light the fabric reflects. Because the pile is formed from fibres already locked into the weave, it does not shed the way a flocked surface would, but it does flatten progressively with washing. Properties that launder at high temperature should specify a firmer brush.

Can the width and GSM be customised together?

Yes, within limits that depend on the loom. Widths from 150 cm to 280 cm are produced, covering standard single and double panels as well as wide-bed programmes that would otherwise need joining. Wider cloth reduces cutting waste on duvet covers and bed runners because the panel can be cut in one piece. Wide width and heavy GSM pull against each other on the loom, so 280 cm at the top of the GSM range needs confirmation before quoting rather than an assumed yes.

What is the minimum order and how long does sampling take?

Minimum order quantity is 3,000 metres per colour, and sampling takes 3–7 days. Sampling matters more on brushed cloth than on plain dyed fabric, because brush depth is a judgement call: two mills can supply the same GSM and still feel different. We send a swatch set cut from the actual production lot rather than a lab hand-feel card, and bulk production runs only after the approval sample is signed off.

How do you handle colour fastness and certification?

Colour fastness depends on the process, not the fibre. In the market, pigment printing commonly lands around grade 2 and disperse printing or dyeing around grade 4; the target grade for an Entian order is set per order, per process and against the approval sample. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and ISO 9001 can be arranged on request rather than being held by default, and SGS inspection can be booked before shipment. Ask for current status before you pass any certification claim to your own customer.

FAQ

What GSM do you recommend for a 4-star hotel?

Most 4-star programmes land between 65 and 85 GSM in plain weave. Below 65 GSM the cloth can become translucent after repeated washing; above 85 GSM it starts to feel heavy for summer-weight bedding. Final GSM is confirmed against your laundry conditions.

Is the brushing single-side or double-side?

Single-side brushing is standard, which keeps the reverse smooth for printing and a cleaner fold. Double-side brushing is possible on request but reduces the maximum width we can guarantee, so confirm before specifying.

Can you match a sample I already have?

Yes. Send the physical sample and tell us its GSM, width and how many washes it has been through. We match construction and hand-feel rather than colour alone, and return a swatch set cut from a production lot for approval.

Do you supply white only?

No. White and ivory dominate hotel programmes, but the same construction is dyed to other colours on request. Colour is set per order with a lab dip approved before bulk.

What is the minimum order quantity?

3,000 metres per colour. Sampling takes 3–7 days; bulk runs after the approval sample is signed off. Monthly capacity is around 1 million metres, keeping repeat orders on short cycles.
